Our social committee will be hosting a BBQ lunch for members and out-of-town guests on the day of Bleeding Hearts. After that, the next event won’t take place until April.

There is also now an opening in the committee.

We have new VCD t-shirts that go up to size 5X. We are expanding our merchandise and always looking for new designs and ideas.

Bleeding Hearts will take place on Sunday, February 9, 2020, at the Church. Doors will be at 8 pm. The preshow will start at 9:30. There will be a raffle benefiting the Texas Anti-Bullying Coalition. There will be a pre-party that Friday, February 7, 2020, at Panoptikon where VCD members will be collecting donations for the cause as well.

Malka has been voted the project lead on this year’s Semi-Fang project. She will be reaching out and forming her project team after Bleeding Hearts.

Our most recent educational workshop was a Waltz refresher course. The turnout was amazing and all that attended learned a lot and had fun. There will be a midnight waltz again at Bleeding Hearts and Midnight. Videos and some notes will be posted on the members’ page.

Our small events committee is working on securing a panel slot for VCD at this year’s AKON. AKON will be May 21-24, 2020.

We have decided to not partake in this year’s Pride parade, but rather have an indoor booth at the Pride Festival taking place the same weekend. Pride will take place in June at Fair Park.

Union is having a market and would like for us to vend at it. Members voted to approve the funds for the vending fee with no abstains and no objections. The market will take place on Saturday, February 22, 2020, from 10 am – 4 pm. Volunteer signup will be on the members’ page.

The lead for the Nocturnal tease, the Gothic Burlesque Festival, will be Syrena. This event will take place at Viva’s on April 25, 2020, and will benefit homeless LGBTQ. VCD will not be running the event. Our volunteers will be manning the raffle ticket table.

North Texas Pride has decided to change its titles from Mr and Mrs to King and Queen. They are having a pageant to crown this year’s new leaders.

Our counselor, Kryn, has decided to resign from her post due to her moving out of state. She has been voted in as a member at large, with no objections and no abstains.
