Public Meeting Notes 03-08-2020

The chair of our Social Committee has stepped down. Bri has been nominated as the new chair and has accepted the said nomination. She was voted in with 1 objection and no abstains. A new member has been added to the committee with no objections and no abstains. The next social event will take place in April.

We are replenishing our dog tags and patches for our merchandise store. Will hopefully finalize our fan and pin designs in the next few weeks.

Two new members were voted into our small events committee with no objections and no abstains.

We raised just under $5000 for the Texas Anti- Bullying Coalition at this year’s Bleeding Hearts Ball. The event was a success. Everyone from the guests to the vendors to the performers and the venue seemed happy with the event. Next year will be our 5th year hosting the Bleeding Hearts Ball.

This year’s Semi fang team has been formed. We are hoping to have 2 shoots per month through the end of August. The series will be published during suicide prevention week in September.

Our next educational workshop will take place on March 29. This will be a workshop about public speaking.

The Pride festival will take place on Saturday, June 6, 2020, at Fair Park. We are still waiting on confirmation for the indoor booth. Volunteer sign-up will be on the member’s page no later than May.

Nocturnal Tease gothic burlesque festival will take place April 25, 2020, at Viva’s. Our project lead stepped down. Nicole J. has been nominated as the new lead and has accepted the nomination. She was voted the new lead by our members with no abstains and no objections.

Our court Herald has stepped down. Miranda has accepted the nomination of this specialist position and the VCD members voted her in with no obtains and no objections.

There was an officer opening in the position of court Counselor. Flora accepted the nomination and was voted in with no objections and no abstains.

Our welcoming committee is being re-branded as our new Culture Committee. This was voted into effect with no abstains and no objections. This committee will be used to not only welcome new guests and members but also guide new members through their first few weeks of membership. This committee will also be in charge of the Big bat/Little Bat mentorship program, which will be opened up again this quarter.

Mike has stepped down as the chair of this committee and Rayne has accepted the nomination. Rayne was voted in as the new chair with no objections and no abstains. A new member accepted the nomination as a member of this committee and was voted in with no objections and no abstains.

Some of our officers recently sat down with the Bad Girls Club for brunch. They are very interested in co-hosting another casino/burlesque night with us at Viva’s sometime towards the end of the summer with an interest in benefiting sexual assault victims. Joining forces with them was voted on and approved by our members with no objections and no abstains. A monkey survey will go up on the members’ pages to determine the project lead.

We will be partnering with the Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence for a Lip Sync battle that will take place on August 1, 2020, from 6-10 pm at the Eagle. More information for this event will become available in the next few months.

We are still waiting on confirmation from AKON to have a VCD panel at this year’s convention.
