Public Meeting Notes 07-01-2018

Location: Gingerman Uptown Dallas, TX

Number of Attendees: 46

After opening statements, the internal committee discussed the success of the VCD karaoke night as well as the next event that will take place.

A toast was made to one of our Officers and members to congratulate them on their recent adoption and custody assignment.

Malka was reconfirmed as Records Keeper, ending her leave of absence.

Two new members were voted on and inducted.

One member has resigned and one member’s removal was voted on due to a breach of the code of charter rules.

The VCD’s next event, Rainbow in the Dark, will be a two-part event next month. We will have a booth collecting donations and raising awareness at S4 in the Rose Room on Friday, Aug. 10 from 11 pm-1 am. The main event will take place at Sue Ellens on Sunday, Aug 12, from 6 pm-10 pm. The cover will be $5. Performers have been booked, with Violet O’Hara returning to the VCD stage as host. Mia Black will be fang smithing at the event, donating all her profits to the cause.

Our Dracula Dead and Loving It movie night event will hopefully be booked for late September or October and will benefit a Veterans charity.

Our next Semi-Fang photo shoot will be scheduled soon. The photo series will be released on the week of Suicide Prevention week in September to raise awareness of Suicide and help provide the community with resources.

Father Sebastiaan will be hosting Endless Nights at the Church, in Dallas, on Saturday, September 29, 2018.

The VCD public was discussed with a focus on post allowance regulations.

Out members are welcome to post personal thoughts and photos to our members-only page, but our public page is limited to four specific officers: Rayne (Queen), Mike (King), Lane (Hospitaller), and Malka (Records Keeper).

Maven will be in Dallas from July 10-16 and will be available to make fangs for VD members or friends. Sets go for $150 for singles, $300 for doubles.

The next public meeting will take place on Sunday, August 5, 2018, at 7 pm at the Gingerman in Uptown Dallas.
